Our Preschool Day

A general outline of a typical day for our 4’s.

9:00-9:15 Greeting
Children are greeted individually by teacher, don name tags/select name cards, wash hands, and engage in a short play session. Library selections and returns daily, starting in October.
12:45-1:00
9:15-9:45 1st Circle
Children, working parents, and teacher meet together for discussion of day’s activities, lesson development, and stories.

11:00-1:30
9:45-10:45 Discovery Hour
Children choose freely among a wide range of play and learning activities that include: art, cooking, building, role playing, sensory  enrichment, large and small muscle exercises, along with science, math, and language/literacy exploration.

1:30-2:30
  OPEN SNACK: 9:55 - 10:35 / 1:40 - 2:20
 
10:45-10:50 Clean-up
Children are encouraged and helped to store their play and learning materials.

10:50-11:10 2nd Circle
Creative Movement, Fingerplays, Songs, Games, and Music.Lesson Extension/Skill Practice

2:35-2:55
11:10-11:30 Outdoor/Indoor Group Play
Playground play or alternative large muscle indoor play.
2:55-3:15
11:30 Dismissal
Parents meet children at the playground with backpacks and schoolwork if we are outside.

PM 12:45 – 3:15

Class size: Maximum 20 children
Tuition: $14
0.00 per month / $185 for private (nonworking) members
Registration: $50.00 non refundable to hold spot

Classroom info:
• 1 teacher (Mrs. French since 1994), 1 assistant (Mrs. Tice), 2 parent helpers in each class.
• Active learning curriculum including:
